5.3 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
All work on the motor must be done by qualified technicians with the machine
shut down and disconnected from the power supply (including any auxiliary
equipment); take suitable measures to protect against unintentional re-activation.
Do not open the terminal box in the presence of combustible dust.
First check that the voltage and frequency specified on the nameplate correspond to the mains power
supply.
Adjust the protection devices (cut-outs) to the rated current shown on the nameplate.
The motors are supplied on both sides with cable inlets closed off with threaded plugs (see sales
catalogue for sizes).
When fitting the cables, use cable glands conforming to
protection rating greater than or equal to that of the motor itself. Unused cable inlets
must be closed with the plugs provided or with Ex certified plugs.
The motor cabling must comply with the connection diagrams supplied with the motor using the
components available inside the terminal box.
The ground terminal is housed inside the terminal box. A second ground terminal is located on the
motor casing. Both terminals are marked with the symbol
The earth lead connection or equipotential must be connected according to applicable safety standards.
The minimum cross-section of the protection cable must be according to EN 61241-1.

The external ground terminal permits the connection of a 4 mm
The motors are equipped with 6-terminal boards for connection to lead-in wires. Execute the
connection in such a way as to guarantee a good electrical contact, secure against slackening over the
long term.
The air gap between unsheathed live components must be at least 6 mm.
Tighten down the terminal screws to the torques shown below in accordance with the screw type.
Before securing the terminal box cover, make sure that the box is free of foreign bodies and dust, that
the mounting surfaces are clean and the gaskets are sound. The tightening torques for the terminal
box screws and other mechanical components are shown in the table below:
