Grounding and Bonding

All grounding (earthing) and equal potential bonding connections must be made according to local
regulations based upon the country of installation. Refer to local codes and the control drawing or
installation drawing in the Appendix section of this manual for more specific information regarding
grounding. It is typical that regional regulations require that all connected pieces of equipment in
the system be bonded together and grounded to a single point. Wire loops, external screws and
star washers have been provided in the installation accessory kits of each terminal to assist in field
installation. Figure 2-5 indicates the locations for grounding and bonding connections on the
panel-mount and harsh enclosure terminals.

Installation Procedure

Once the information in this chapter and in all other suggested regulatory documents has been read
and understood, the IND570xx terminal may be installed. Refer to Chapter 2 of the IND570
Installation Guide (#30205319) for details on how to mount the harsh or panel-mount enclosures
and how to make the required terminal block connections for the power, scale and other
accessories. Special installation requirements for the IND570xx terminals are described below.
They are also listed in the Special Conditions for Safe Use section of this manual.
In addition to the information in this chapter, instructions, control drawings, installation drawings
and details listed in the certificates found in Chapter 3 of this guide must be followed during the
installation.
2.10.1.

Panel-Mount Stiffener Bracket

When installing the panel-mount IND570xx terminal, note that the panel stiffener bracket included
with the terminal must be used to ensure the required IP rating.
After inserting the panel enclosure through the mounting hole in the panel, slide the stiffener bracket
over the housing, then install and tighten the two mounting clamps. The stiffener bracket and
mounting clamps are shown installed in Figure 2-6.
