• The MAPs or System may require cleaning using warm water and a domestic
detergent. The device shall be thoroughly rinsed and dried naturally away
from direct heat. If lubrication is required contact a Technician
CAUTION
Do not use any solvents, thinners, bleach or any chemical cleaning
agent containing chlorine.
• The MAPs shall be stored away from excessive heat, high humidity,
sharp edges, corrosives or other foreseeable causes of damage. The
equipment shall not be subjected to unnecessary stress, pressure or
rough handling. Either transport an MAP in its original packaging or
in a protective bag. Wet equipment shall be dried naturally away from
direct heat.

9 Service life

MAPs and HLLs have an indeterminate service life dependent upon
usage and environmental conditions. Continued use is dependent upon
passing pre-use checks and periodic examinations.
Equipment which is damaged, is unable to pass an inspection, has been
subject to a fall or is in need of maintenance must be removed from
service and tagged as "DO NOT USE". Corrective maintenance (other
than cleaning) and repair, such as replacement of elements, must be
performed by a Registered installer

10 Disposal
All stainless steel and plastic components are recyclable. Dispose in
accordance with local regulations.
11 Equipment record
This card should be filled in on receipt of the device and on receipt after
every periodic examination.

1. Technician: a person, other than the User, who is trained by MSA to examine, repair and
recertify Latchways MAPs, in accordance with MSA's instructions.
2. Competent person: a person, other than the User, competent in the examination of PPE in
accordance with MSA's instructions.
