The piping (19) must be placed on the edge of the holder below the headlight and the left side member to
act as a chafing guard for the heating hoses (20).
Before connecting the last heating hose, the auxiliary heater (12) and the heating hoses must be filled with
coolant.

Place the piping (19) on the edge of the left side
member and the holder below the headlight.
Cut the chafing guard (21) to lengths of 300 mm.
Connect the supply hose (20d) and the heating supply
hose (20a) with the chafing guard (21) to the auxiliary
heater and secure them to the blower frame using the
pipe clips (22).
Four-cylinder engines (M47) only
Push the chafing guard (600 mm) (21) on to heating
hoses (20b and 20e).
Connect the heating supply hose (20e) to the heating
supply hose (20d) and connect them to the additional
water pump (55) using the heating hose (24a).
Connect the heating feed hose (20b) to the heating
feed hose (20a) and connect them to the coolant
hose (56) that has been sealed off from the additional
water pump (55).

Six-cylinder engines (M57) only
Push the chafing guard (600 mm) (21) on to heating
hoses (20b and 20e).
Cut the coolant hose (56) that has been shut off from
the additional water pump (55) shortly after the hose
holder (57).
Connect the heating supply hose (20e) to the heating
supply hose (20d) and connect them to the additional
water pump (55) using the heating hose (24a).
Connect the heating feed hose (20b) to the heating
feed hose (20a) and connect them to the cut coolant
hose (56) with the heating hoses (23b).
Secure all the hoses with cable ties.
