5.1. PRESENTaTION
The LEDI Network IN provides a SNMP v1 interface for fine monitoring and diagnostic.
The SNMP protocol allows the supervision of a device through the network. Two kind of
information are available through a SNMP interface:
►
A set of variables that can be read. These variables are stored together in a databa-
se (MIB) organized in a hierarchical way. The variables are set by the NTP software
to reflect its internal states.
►
Some traps that can be generated by the NTP software to indicate important state
modification.
There is two important parts in the MIB:
►
A general-purpose branch named System. This branch is MIB II compatible.
►
A private branch that contains information specific to the LEDI Network IN product.
Private MIBs are described with .MIB files. Two .MIB files are provided on the CDROM in
the directory English\LEDINETWORKIN\MIB:
►
The file GtNtpOutBus.mib contains the description of the information related to the
output cards – Localization in the MIB:
iso(1).org(3).dod(6).internet(1).private(4).enterprises(1).gorgy(8955).hardware(2).ntpOutBus(1)
►
The file GtNtpClient.mib contains the description of the information related to the
NTP client software – Localization in the MIB:
iso(1).org(3).dod(6).internet(1).private(4).enterprises(1).gorgy(8955).software(1).ntpClient(4)
►
The file GtNtpServer.mib contains the description of the information related to the
NTP server output card software – Localization in the MIB:
iso(1).org(3).dod(6).internet(1).private(4).enterprises(1).gorgy(8955).software(1).ntpSrv(3)
