Maintenance steps „Visual checks"
These maintenance steps describe visual checks that you must perform before all maintenance work. The maintenance
intervals are detailed in the maintenance overview at the start of this chapter.

General
The following general visual checks should be performed before all maintenance work and also always before using the
machine:
• Check if all safety equipment is in place.
• Check the machine for obvious defects.
• Check all seals and rubber parts for signs of wear and cracks; replace if necessary.
• Make sure the machine was set up as described in the chapter „Transportation, Installation and Connection".
• Check if the components are suitable and fitted correctly.
• Check if the ventilation vents on the drive are free of soiling, and remove any soiling if necessary.
Maintenance steps „Electrical"
If you discover any damage to the electrical parts, call an electrician to repair them.
Check the wiring carefully and precisely. There is a danger of voltage creep due to damaged wiring especially in case of
high humidity or damp surroundings.
• Before you start working, always check the electrical parts for signs of visible damage.
• Make sure that electrical connections are well seated and free of corrosion.
• Check for wire breaks
• Check the wiring for signs of visible damage (visual check).
• Make sure that the power supply rating is correct and secured by an earth leakage circuit breaker, and that
that the machine is correctly connected.
Maintenance steps „Functional check of safety equipment"
These maintenance steps describe functional checks of the safety equipment. The maintenance intervals are detailed in
the maintenance overview at the start of this chapter.

No special tools required.
Before you start machine operations, you should check the following functions while the machine is running.
Check that all safety equipment is working.
Check if all safety equipment is in place and functional.
Check:
- the function of the undervoltage trip
A defective safety device can promise safety that does not exist in reality. This can mean that the machine
continues to run or does not switch off quickly enough in an emergency, thus causing injury to persons.
If the safety device does not respond during your check, you must not operate the machine. You must check
the safety equipment before you start work in all cases.
Functional check of the undervoltage trip
Make sure that the undervoltage trip is working
•
Pull the power plug while the machine is running. After approx. 5 seconds connect the plug to the power supply
again. The machine must not start up autonomously. The machine must not restart until you press the ON switch.
