3.0 Safety regulations
This chapter provides an overview of critical safety instructions. Please ensure that this chapter
is read and understood by all persons who work on or with the machine. The individual instructions are also repeated at
various parts of these operating instructions.
Special safety regulations may apply to certain tasks. These special safety regulations are only stated in the
task description.
The following safety instructions should be seen as a supplement to existing national accident prevention
regulations and laws.
You must observe existing accident prevention regulations and laws in all cases.
3.1 Basic precepts
Only use the machine in perfect working order and for the intended purpose; be aware of safety concerns and risks as
detailed in these operating instructions at all times! In particular, you must remedy any and all malfunctions that could
impair the safety of the machine without delay!
Make sure that:
• no safety equipment is removed, disabled or modified,
• safety equipment dismantled for maintenance and repair work must be refitted immediately after completion of this
work.
Before starting up the machine make sure it is in a safe condition. If you notice any defects or malfunctions - or even
signs of the same – the defects and malfunctions must be remedied immediately. If necessary, inform your supervisor.
If you notice any defects or malfunctions - or even signs of the same – while working, you must stop working immedia-
tely. Remedy the defect or malfunction before restarting the machine.
3.2 Intended use
The machine has been built to reflect the current state of the art and comply with accepted safety regulations. Despite
this, using the machine can pose a risk to life and limb of the operating staff or third parties, and result in deterioration
of the machine or other objects.
The machine may only be put to the intended use as stated in these operating instructions and the accompanying docu-
ments. Observe all instructions and safety regulations in these operating instructions in all cases.
The machine is designed exclusively for feeding paste-like materials with a maximum grain size of 3 mm. You must
not process any other materials and objects.
The machine may only be operated with its safety devices in place.
Any work on the machine's electrical system must be performed by a qualified and trained electrician.
You are not permitted to modify, extend or convert the machine without the prior approval of its manufacturer.
An occupational safety check of the machine must be performed at least once per year by an authorised expert. The
owner/operator is responsible for ensuring that this check takes place.
3.3 Unintended use

tended. STORCH accepts no liability for damage caused by unintended use. The owner/operator bears sole responsibili-
ty for unintended use.
Modifications
You are not permitted to modify, extend or convert any part of the machine that could impair the machine's safety wit-
hout the prior approval of its manufacturer! This also applies to the installation or adjustment of safety equipment and
valves, and to welding of load-bearing parts.
The values specified on the type plate, in the Technical Specifications and the machine card are the maximum permis-
sible values.
The control and safety settings preset by the manufacturer must not be modified.
