8.0 Malfunctions, causes and remedies

This chapter provides an overview of malfunctions, their possible causes and remedies. During troubleshooting, please
observe safety regulations.
All work on the electrical equipment of the machine must be performed a qualified electrician, or trained
persons under the guidance and supervision of an electrician in line with electro-technical rules.
Contact your STORCH service department if you cannot resolve the problem yourself. Use only original
spare parts. STORCH accepts no liability for damage caused by the use of non-original spare parts.
Machine will not start / will not start correctly
Cause
No power supply
Drive power cable not plugged into the control unit
Undervoltage trip triggered on control unit
Mortar not existing the application hose, or irregular
consistency
Cause
Carrier coupling on the drive unit not correctly connected
to the bayonet type coupling on the spiral pump.
No vacuum in the pump line / pump outlet T union
Blocking / material build-up in the pump unit and/or mor-
tar hose due to extended work break, improper cleaning
or wear of the spiral pump
Motor switches off due to overload or undervoltage
Cause
An interruption to the power supply has triggered the
undervoltage trip on the machine
Thermal protection on drive triggered due to overheating
of drive
Material consistency too dry
Spiral pump blocked by a foreign body
Power failure
Remedy
Check if the power supply is correctly connected or if
the earth leakage circuit breaker has been tripped at the
power source.
Check whether the drive power cable is plugged into the
control unit on the machine.
Remove the cause of the undervoltage (mains power not
available), then press the ON button on the control unit to
switch the machine on again.
Remedy
Switch off the machine, and isolate the machine com-
pletely by removing the power plug from the source.
Uncouple the pump line / dismantle and check the carrier
coupling for correct seating on the bayonet coupling of the
spiral pump
Detach the mortar hose and fill the pump unit with water.
Switch off the machine, and isolate the machine com-
pletely by removing the power plug from the source.
Dismantle the pump unit, clean and completely remove
material build-up. If the spiral pump shows signs of wear,
replace the pump.
Remedy
Remove the cause of the undervoltage, then press the
ON button on the machine's control unit to switch the
machine on again.
Wait for a few minutes until the drive has cooled down
and then switch on the drive by pressing the On/Off
switch on the drive.
Check the material consistency; clean the pump unit and
mortar hose and restart the machine. Adjust the material
consistency if needed.
Remove the foreign body, clean the pump unit and
restart.
If the power fails at the site, and you cannot remedy this
immediately, you must immediately dismantle and clean
the pump.
