The machine must not be operated with disabled, modified or defective safety equipment.
Safety equipment may only be repaired, adjusted or replaced by persons qualified to do so. All equipment with a safety
function must be in place and in working order.
The machine is not protected against danger of explosion and must not be operated in areas where a danger of explosi-
on exists.

3.4 Liability

The owner/operator is obliged to observe these operating instructions.
You must observe the safety and accident prevention regulations of the following authorities:
• employer's liability insurance associations
• the responsible company liability insurer
• your national laws.
Legislators will blame accidents caused by failure to observe safety and accident prevention rules, or due to a lack of
care:
- on the operating staff, or (should the operating staff lack training or basic knowledge and thus not be capable of being
deemed culpable)
- on supervisory staff.
Please exercise care for this reason.
Exclusion of liability
We expressly point out that STORCH will not be held liable for damage caused by incorrect or careless use, mainte-
nance or repairs, or by improper use. This also applies in cases where you modify, extend or convert any part of the
machine that could impair the machine's safety. In these cases, your warranty is voided.

3.5 Staff selection and qualifications

Persons who autonomously maintain or repair the machine:
• must be of legal age
• must be healthy and capable (not tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication)
• trained in operating and maintaining the machine
• responsible persons who can be expected to fulfil the tasks assigned to them in a reliable manner.
Training
Persons who operate maintain or repair the machine must have received corresponding training and be authorised to do
so. Staff responsibilities must be clearly defined.
The following persons may only work on or at the machine when supervised by an experienced person:
• staff in training
• trainees
• staff under instructions
• persons in the scope of a general apprenticeship.
Electricians
All work on the electrical equipment of the machine must be performed a qualified electrician, or trained persons under
the guidance and supervision of an electrician in line with electro-technical rules. In this case, please contact STORCH.

3.6 Sources of risk

Never reach into moving parts of the machine while the machine is running or switched off. Always switch off the
machine at the on/off switch first, and electrically isolate the machine by puling the mains plug. Observe warning
notices.
In case of malfunctions, immediately disable and secure the machine! Remedy malfunctions without delay!
Before switching the machine back on, make sure that nobody can be endangered by the machine running back up to
speed! Do not loosen or tighten screw unions that are under pressure.
Hot machine parts
A risk of burns during and after work exists due to hot parts of the drive motor.
