• If the instrument passes the zero calibration, the SPAN
screen displays.
3.8.2 Span Calibration
To skip the Span calibration procedure, push the ▲ button.
If no button is pushed for 30 seconds, the instrument returns to the
Measuring mode without calibrating the instrument.
Because of the different combinations of gases, it is possible to perform
single-channel calibration for the additional toxic sensors, if installed.
1. The screen displays.
2. When calibrating with gases > 100% LEL, select the "Yes" option
to prompt "Span Calibration?" BEFORE applying gas to the
instrument. Otherwise, the LEL sensor reading could be shifted.
Following a successful calibration of >100% LEL IR sensors, the
unit must be turned OFF, then ON to clear the over-range alarm
"XXX" on the combustible LEL sensor.
3. Attach the calibration cap to the instrument (diffusion units only).
4. Connect one end of tubing to the cylinder regulator (supplied in the
calibration kit).
5. Noting the special exception in Step 2, connect the other end of the
tubing to the calibration cap or pump inlet.
6. Open the valve regulator (Fixed Flow regulators only).
