Connecting the barcode scanner (seca 797)
A barcode scanner can be connected to the USB interface of the device. The
barcode scanner can be used to record the ID of the patient and/or the ID of the
user.
NOTE
– If you want to use the WiFi function or a barcode scanner (variant-
dependent), the power consumption of the device will rise signifi-
cantly. In these cases, operate the device with the power supply
unit provided.

To connect a barcode scanner to the display unit, proceed as follows:
1. Remove the cover panel:
a) Unscrew two cross-head screws
b) Remove the cover panel
2. Connect the barcode scanner:
c) Plug the USB stick of the barcode scanner into the USB interface of the
display unit
d) Route the barcode scanner cable over the strain relief
NOTE
Some barcode scanner cables are very thin and are thus not ade-
quately held in place.
► Additionally fix the barcode scanner cable in the bores on the strain
relief using a cable tie.
3. Hang the barcode scanner in the scanner bracket.
4. Fit the cover panel:
