Cleaning Guidelines
Ensure the LifeStart is disconnected from the mains electricity supply before cleaning.
It is recommended that after each use, all surfaces are cleaned using chlorine dioxide
based disinfectant.
Clean the rubber bungee using a mild soap solution and soft cloth.
Rubber bungee can be replaced during periodic preventive maintenance.
Periodic Preventive Maintenance

8. Troubleshooting
Before Use
All electrical items (cables, power inlets, power outlets, etc) should be checked for any
sign of damage before each use of the system. If there is any sign of damage, or if any
part of the electrical system is not working, remove the LifeStart from service and report
to your local distributor. Check that the Medirails and the patient platform are securely
attached.
Height Adjustment
At regular intervals, check that the height adjustment mechanism functions properly.
The height adjustment stops automatically at the upper and lower limits of travel and
should be smooth and quiet in operation. These limits are factory set and no attempt
should be made to alter them.
If the height adjustment fails to function correctly, firstly check the electrical connection
to the mains electricity supply. If this does not solve the problem, remove the LifeStart
from service and report to your local distributor.
Manual height adjustment is not possible. The height adjustment mechanism should not
be operated continuously for more than a 2 minute period. If this occurs the mechanism
should not be operated again for 20 minutes to allow the system to cool down. Failure
to observe this may lead to damage of the system.
Wheels and Locking Mechanisms
At regular intervals, inspect the wheels and brake mechanism to ensure they function
correctly. Do not use the LifeStart if any of the wheels or brakes fail to function smoothly
and effectively.
Timer Unit
If the battery indicator illuminates with a yellow light in the lower section of the symbol,
then the batteries should be replaced as soon as convenient.
If the Timer fails to turn on, ensure the Power button is pressed for at least 3 seconds.
If it still fails to power up, then replace the batteries as described in section 4.Setting Up.
