Important Notes
Check that there is no damage to the LifeStart unit or the power cable and
!
ensure that the Medirails and the patient platform are securely attached.
Always apply the brakes before adjusting the height.
Do not use LifeStart if the brakes do not function correctly.
Ensure the LifeStart patient platform is set to the correct height prior to birth.
Do not adjust the height of the patient platform whilst the patient is on the
LifeStart.
All LifeStart height adjustments must be completely free from obstructions
and the patient platform should be clear of the bed or operating table. Failure
to observe due care could pose a risk to the neonate, mother, user or other
medical staff. In addition, it could risk instability or cause damage to the
product, bed or operating table.
Before U se
Turn on the Timer and check the battery charge status indicator; replace the batteries
as instructed in section 4.Setting Up if the low battery power indicator is illuminated.

Height Adj ustment
All LifeStart units have electrical height adjustment, operated by the foot pedals.
To raise the patient platform, depress the pedal marked with the upward-pointing arrow;
to lower the LifeStart, depress the pedal marked with the downward-pointing arrow.
When the platform reaches the desired height, release the pedal to stop the motor.
When the platform reaches its highest or lowest position, the motor will automatically
stop and the pedal should be released.
Wheels and Locking M echanisms
All casters are designed to swivel. All four wheels are fitted with a lock mechanism. To
engage, press down on the front of the locking tab until it clicks into the brake position;
to release locking tab, press down the rear of the locking tab unit it clicks into unlocked
position.
