You can use the Jog/Shuitle controls instead of the
numeric keys and SET/SELECT buttons. After pressing
the MENU button, all setting operations can be done with
the Jog/Shuttle controls: JOG dial for setting data (SET)
and SHUTTLE ring for verifying entry and advancing to the
next position (SELECT). (When you use the Jog/Shuttle
controls on the remote control unit, press the CH/
SET*SELECT button after pressing the MENU button.)

@ Be sure to press the TIMER button to engage the Timer
Standby mode after having programmed the timer.
