press the JOG/SHUTTLE button so that its LED indicator
tape is moving.

using the remote control's JOG dial, first press
the JOG/SHUTTLE button so that its LED indicator lights.)
The inner JOG dial allows continuous frame-by-frame search in
both directions. By turning it in either direction while in the Still
mode, the tape can be advanced or moved back a frame at a
time for precise location of a specific point in a scene. (This
function is especially convenient for locating edit-in and edit-
out points during editing.)
e Turn
the JOG
dial clockwise while in the Still mode to
advance the picture; counterclockwise to move the picture
back.
@ If the JOG dial is rotated at a speed of about one revolution
per second, the picture moves at about 1/6 normal speed. If
rotated at about two revolutions per second, the picture
moves at about normal playback speed.
