(1j.–3j. – see page *13*).Press down on the
detachable nose section to unlock the click-on
connection on the backing pad cover. Now you can
disconnect the detachable nose section on the
left, then on the right from the backing pad cover.
Use the same work steps in reverse to re-attach it
(1k.–3k. – see page *14*).
In TSW devices: Use the triangular sanding head.
f. Release the on/off button to switch off.
The pushbutton safety guard then functions
automatically. The backing pad with the abrasive

that all movement has stopped before putting
down the machine.
Caution! The mains plug must be
disconnected from the mains socket
and not be reconnected during any of the

6. Maintenance and service
6.1 General information
The mains plug must be disconnected from the
mains socket before carrying out any work on the
device!
Do not use water or other liquid cleaning agents!
All parts of the housing and operating
components and joints must be cleaned regularly
with dry, clean compressed air, or with a fine
brush or dry, lint-free cloth!
Make sure that the ventilation slits in the housing
are free and clean at all times!
Regularly clean the extraction zone underneath
the backing pad and the opening to the extractor
guide around the sanding disc with compressed
air, a fine brush or a dry, lint-free cloth. Check the
connection cable, mains plug and other machine
components regularly for visual damage and have
them replaced by your MENZER Service workshop
as needed!
All repairs on the device and any works that entail
opening any of the machine components must be
carried out by MENZER Service!
6.2 Replacing the abrasive
(Page *15* and *8*)
Detach the worn abrasive from the backing pad
(1l.–3l. – page *15*) and press on the new abrasive
centrically in the same position (see page *8*).
The hook & loop layer will hold it in place. Ensure
correct alignment of the extraction openings and
select a grit size appropriate for the intended use
(see chapter 5.3 on commissioning).
Never use the power tool without an
abrasive attached. Sanding without an
abrasive would destroy the backing pad.
6.3 Replacing the velcro backing pad
(Pages *16* and *17*)
Only use OEM backing pads! Place the Allen key
into the screw head of the driving disk attachment
bolt on the drive shaft (1m.). Hold the backing
pad with one hand, while using the Allen key to
unscrew the attachment bolt (in anti-clockwise
direction) from the drive shaft (2m.). Now you can
lift the backing pad off the drive shaft.
Attach the new backing pad in reverse order of
these work steps and use the Allen key to screw in
the attachment bolt (in clockwise direction). (1n.
and 2n.). Remove the Allen key.
Make sure you hand-tighten the bolt with
the Allen key.
6.4 Replacing the click-in brush ring
(TBS 225 – pages *18* and *19*)
The click-in brush ring on the backing pad cover
must be replaced (tool-free mounting and
removal) if it shows signs of wear or damage.
Remove the abrasive from the velcro backing
pad to replace the two-part click-in brush ring
assembly (6.2 Replacing the abrasive). Remove
one of the click-in brush ring parts by carefully
detaching it from the click-in hooks and repeat the
procedure for the second click-in brush ring part,
while holding the backing pad cover firmly in place
(1o. and 2o.).
Attach the new click-in brush ring parts in the
correct position, by clicking them carefully into the
click-in hooks provided (1p. and 2p.).
You can now re-attach the abrasive
(5.3 Commissioning - section d. - images 1c. and
2c. on page *8*).
Replacing the brush ring
(TBS 225 AV / TSW 225 / TSW 225 AV – page *20*
and *21*)
If the brush ring of the round sanding heads is
worn or damaged, it must be replaced.
To replace the brush ring loosen/pull the abrasive
from the backing pad (6.2 Replacing the abrasive).
Remove the screws that hold the brush ring, and
then the brush ring itself (1q.–3q.).
Install the new brush ring in the old position and
retighten it with the screws (1r.).
Now you can refit the abrasive (refer to 6.2 Replac-
ing the abrasive).
6.5 Replacing the corners of the triangular
sanding head (in TSW units) (page *22*)
To replace the corners on the triangular sanding
head, loosen the outer screws on the replaceable
head housing (1s.). Then replace the corners and
retighten the screws (1t.).
