Loading edit data from an external
component

Set the communication parameters and format of
the data to be received using the INTERFACE
setup menu.

Press the LOAD ([SHIFT] + [2]) button.
The VTR1 button LED flashes to indicate that the
data reception mode is now established.

Data is now loaded from the computer or other
external component.
The number of the event being loaded appears on
the event number display lamps.

Loading is completed when all the edit data inside
the computer has been sent.
Alternatively, it is completed when the EDL
memory is full.
To stop loading at any time, press the ALL STOP
button.
<Notes>
O Loading is not possible if the CONTROL switch has
been set to the REMOTE or EXT VTR position.
O To
execute
loading,
parameters, etc. of the computer or other external
component must also be set.
O The operation may not proceed properly if data in a
format which cannot be handled by the unit is
received or if modified or edited EDL data is
received.

External component settings and
communication methods
The
external
component
communication methods that must be employed differ
depending on the component concerned.
For details on the settings and operations, refer to the
manuals accompanying the component, its operating
system, and communications software program.

Use the same communication protocol settings for
the external component as for the unit. The unit's
protocol settings can be selected using setup
menu item No.205 through No.208 and No.270.
(Factory settings:
Baud rate: 9600 bps, Data length: 8 bits,
Stop bit: 1 stop bit, Parity: odd,
Flow control: None)
The external component (personal computer, etc.)
