OPERATION
13.1
Before switching on
-
Before switching on, check that the moving parts are correctly seated.
-
Check whether the workpiece is correctly clamped.
-
Pay attention to foreign objects, such as wires, nails etc., as well as irregularities in the
material, such as knots.
-
Check that the moving parts function properly and are not jammed or that parts are
damaged. All parts must be correctly assembled and meet all conditions to ensure proper
operation of the machine.
-
Turn the clamped workpiece by hand EVERY time before switching on to ensure that it
runs freely and does not touch the wrist-rest.
-
Also check that the workpiece has been clamped centered!
-
Unbalanced clamped and non-centric workpieces can quickly lead to strong vibrations
during operation.

The main switch also serves as an emergency stop switch. After pressing the
emergency stop button or after a power failure, the machine must be restarted
manually by pressing the "I" button.
Important: Always let the machine start up to maximum speed before you start turning!
13.2.2 Swivel the headstock
HOLZMANN MASCHINEN GmbH
The headstock has five preset positions: 0° setting for all
spindle turning tasks, 60°/90°/120° for use with face plate
turning tasks and 180° for use with face plate turning tasks
when using the extension bed and the tool support.
To move the headstock to the desired position, turn the head
locking lever (1) at least one turn.
Pull out the headstock release (2) and turn the entire
headstock clockwise to the desired position. The headstock is
fixed when it locks into one of the five preset settings.
