3. Install the belay lanyard:
– Secure the connector of the adjustment device
LCM 05 in the hole at the top of the fastening pin
(Fig.7, 3.1).
– Run the belay lanyard around the ladder bar
located above the bracket, going around one of the
ladder uprights (Fig.7, 3.2).
– Connect the belay lanyard connector in the
connector of the adjustment device LCM 05 (Fig.7,
3.3).
– Tension the belay lanyard by pulling on the free
strand (Fig.7, 3.4).
DANGER: Risk of fatal fall if belay lanyard is
not correctly installed.
4. Throw the rope down, making sure that it is not
tangled or has any knots, that it does not rub against
a sharp edge and that it reaches the ground.
5. Check that there are no obstacles along the
evacuation path and on the reception area.
Examples: electrical wires, concrete strengthening
iron rods, glazed surface.
6. Align the derope™ descender as may be required,
modifying the position of the fastening pin in the
indexing device (Fig.7, 6.1 – 6.2).

The derope™ UP R descender must be secured to the
leg of the Tractel
tracpode as shown in Fig.8. Any other

mounting position on any other point of the Tractel
tracpode is strictly prohibited.
To use the derope™ UP R descender on one of the 3
legs of the tracpode tripod, the tripod must be equipped
with an idler pulley at the upper part, or with two pulleys
if another device is implemented on the same tracpode

If the derope™ UP R descender is not installed on the
bracket for use with the Tractel
bracket as instructed below:
1. Unscrew the screw securing the hook by which the
bracket is fastened to the derope™ UP R descender
(Fig. 8,1).
2. Install the derope™ UP R descender on the
fastening hook (Fig. 8, 2.1 – 2.2).
3. Screw in the locking screw to prevent the unit from
separating from its bracket (Fig.8, 3) and check that
it is properly positioned and tightened.
