WARNING.
• Do not refill fuel while engine is running or hot.
• Make sure fuel is not leaking.
• Only fuel the machine in well-lit areas. Avoid fuel spillage. Never refuel
the machine during operation. Let the engine cool down for about two
minutes before refueling.
• Refueling must not be carried out near naked flames, control lamps or
spark producing electrical equipment such as electric tools, welders or
sanders.
Chain lubrication
WARNING! The chain saw is not filled with chain lubricating oil. It is
essential to fill it with chain lubricating oil before using it! Never operate the
chain saw without chain lubricating oil as this will result in extensive damage
to the chain saw!
Operating the chain saw dry or with little chain lubricating oil will decrease
cutting efficiency, shorten the chain saw life span and cause rapid wear to
the saw chain and guide bar from overheating!
Insufficient chain lubricating oil is evident by smoke or bar discoloration!
Adequate lubrication of the saw chain during cutting operation is essential to
minimize friction with the guide bar!
1) Place the chain saw on a stable, level surface with the oil tank cap facing
upward.
2) Unscrew and remove the oil tank cap.
3) Fill suitable chain lubricating oil into the tank (Fig.18). Don't overfill and
leave approximately 5 mm of space between the top of the oil and the
inside edge of the tank to allow for expansion. (Fig.19)
4) Wipe up spilled lubricating oil with a soft cloth and refit the oil tank cap.
- Only use oil specifically designed for saw chain lubrication.
- DO NOT use old oil.
- Using a non recommended oil can damage the guide bar, the chain
and the lubrication system.
During each refueling operation, also top up the oil tank.
