6.9
Flushing the vehicle A/C system
Flushing is carried out to purge used compressor oil,
impurities or metallic particles from the vehicle A/C sys-
tem. The refrigerant, R134a, itself is used as the
medium for flushing.
!
Do not use any solvent for flushing. Using solvents
might damage the ACS 651/751.
The refrigerant in the vehicle A/C system must be
extracted before flushing. During cleaning, the refriger-
ant is injected into the vehicle A/C system using the HP
hose and is simultaneously extracted using the LP hose.
At the end of flushing, the residual oil is added to the
used oil reservoir.
!
The system components which cannot be flushed
should be removed from the flushing circuit. An inter-
mediate filter must always be used when flushing.
!
Before carrying out the flushing procedure, recover
the refrigerant from the vehicle A/C system.
1. Connect the quick couplers to the service connections
on the vehicle A/C system.
2. Disconnect the following system components from the
refrigerant circuit of the vehicle A/C circuit:
$
Compressor
$
Line filter
$
Fixed choke
$
Collection containers
$
Filter drying units
$
Expansion valve
3. Connect the quick couplers and the components
that need to be flushed using special adapters.
4. In the main menu, select "Vehicle A/C Service" and
press E.
5. Select the operator name and press E.
6. Select "A/C System Flushing" and press E.

9. Press E.
The flushing process starts.
10. To cancel the flushing, press c. After the flushing
is complete, disconnect the quick couplers and the
components from the special adapters.
11. Connect the components listed in step 2 back to
the vehicle A/C system.
12. In the manual mode, perform vacuum creation and
refill refrigerant into the vehicle A/C system.(See
chapter 6.7)
