g) Installing the Receiver
Use servo tape to install the receiver (1) on the
underside of the battery slide.
Connect the servos and gyro to the receiver in the
order the remote control indicates for controlling
helicopters. Fasten all cables with cable-ties (2)
so that they can not catch in some rotating drive
parts or linkage rods.
State of the art receivers for 2.4 GHz radio sys-
tems have two very short aerials. For best recep-
tion, these aerials should not be installed parallel,
but at a right angle or in a "V" shape. For this,
observe the operating instructions for the remote
control system.
If using a 35- or 40MHz-remote control system,
the receiver aerials are usually one meter in length.
When placing these long aerials, it is particularly important that the aerial can never (not even in case of negative
figures like reverse flying) be caught in any rotating drive parts or rotor blades.
To prevent this, the undercarriage has four eyelets for Bowden tubes. You may then guide the receiver aerial through
these tubes attached to the undercarriage. For this, also observe the notes in chapter „Mounting the Skid Undercar-
riage" in the earlier part of these instructions.
Servo tape loses its adhesive strength over time and in particular at low temperatures. Due to this, we
recommend verifying the tight fit of the receiver or to secure it additionally – e.g. with a cable binder.
In case of receivers with replaceable crystals, we also recommend securing the crystal with adhesive tape.
h) Installing the Cables
Cables should generally be attached to the chassis with a kind of cable straps so that they can under no circumstances
get into any rotating drive parts and so that the cable insulation cannot be chafed through.
