i) Installing the Main Rotor Blades
Attach the rotor blades (2) to the respective rotor
head receptacle of the rotor head (1) with the in-
cluded 3 x 20 mm screws and lock nuts (3).
Attention!
Viewed from above, the main rotor
turns clockwise. Ensure that the rotor
blades are installed correctly. Tighten
the rotor blade screws only so far that
the blades can still be aligned exactly
by the centrifugal force.
j) Installing the Flight Battery
The fight battery is not included. Take the following steps to install the flight battery:
Weld a suitable high current-capable plug system to the connection cables for the rechargeable battery (figure 10,
item 1) and speed control. Always ensure the correct polarity.
The red speed control cable must be connected to the positive cable of the rechargeable battery and the black speed
control cable to the negative cable of the rechargeable battery. Observe the instructions for the battery and speed
controller.
Install the rechargeable battery (1) in the battery slide, mark the reference point in colour (4) and attach it with hook
and loop tape (2).
In addition to the hook and loop tape, attach a strip of adhesive tape to the bottom of the battery and to the battery slide
to effectively prevent sliding to the front or the rear.
For this, see figure 10 in the following chapter „Setting the Centre of Gravity".
The speed controller usually has a safety device to prevent inadvertent engine start-up.
When contact is made with the rechargeable battery although the transmitter is not switched on or the speed/pitch
control stick was not set to zero, the control electronics in the model will not cause the engine to start. When the
transmitter is switched on and the speed/pitch control stick is set to zero once, the control electronics in the model
clears normal operating state.
The control electronics indicate this by bleeping. If this is not the case, the rechargeable battery must be disconnected
from the speed controller and reconnected after approx. 10 seconds.
Caution:
To prevent inadvertent engine start-up if the safety device fails, the transmitter should be switched on. The
speed/pitch control stick must be set to zero so that no acceleration command is sent. Test this before
connecting the rechargeable battery by shortly touching the contact between the battery and the helicopter
first. Make permanent contact between battery and helicopter only after you made sure that the engine will
not start up.
