9. Commissioning
a) Removing the Car Body
Pull the four safety clips out and take off the car body upwards.
b) Installing the Receiver Aerial Cable
Guide the aerial cable through the aerial tube (A) and plug
it into the respective holder (B) at the top of the vehicle.
For a wide range, the aerial needs to protrude from the
vehicle as vertically as possible.
Never coil the aerial cable! This greatly reduces the range.
Ensure that the aerial cable is not damaged. Never short-
en the aerial cable!
c) Configuring the Speed Controller
The speed controller has two jumpers to configure the
driving function and the rechargeable battery type.
Jumper "Reverse" (A): This switches reverse driving off
("Disable") or on ("Enable").
Jumper "Battery" (B): Sets what sort of drive battery is
connected to the speed controller (LiPo or NiMH).
Important!
If you use a LiPo drive battery but set the re-
chargeable battery type to NiMH, the recharge-
able battery will be deep discharged and de-
stroyed.
Therefore, always set the proper rechargeable
battery type before operating the vehicle.
The setting "Lipo" causes the speed controller to reduce
the motor power to 50% when the battery voltage drops
below 6.5 V.
The speed controller switches off the motor below a battery voltage of 6.0 V. This way, the LiPo drive battery is pro-
tected from harmful deep discharge.
For the setting "NiMH", the motor output will be reduced at a rechargeable battery voltage of less than 4.5 V; the motor
will be switched off if the battery voltage drops to under 4.0 V.
