c) Setting the Tooth Belt Tension
Regularly check the tooth belt leading to the tail
rotor drive for damage and proper tension.
You have achieved the right belt tension if you can
press one side of the drive belt (1) in the main
gear area inwards towards the centre (about 3mm)
with a small screwdriver without using excessive
force.
To correct the belt tension, loosen the two fin at-
tachment screws on the top (1) and bottom (2)
(figure 17a).
Then loosen the four screws of the tail pipe holder
(1) and push the tail boom pipe approx. 1 mm
backwards. Make sure you do not twist the tail
boom.
