Routine maintenance
WARNING!
•
Before carrying out any routine maintenance operation, put the ON/OFF button (5) in 'off' position and re-
move the battery (9) from the tool.
•
All the maintenance operations which are not mentioned in this manual must be carried out at an Authorized
Service Point.
Routine maintenance operations can be carried out by the operators.
Lubricating the blades
After each use, remove the residues from the blades and apply LUBE SPRAY GREASE lubricant recommended by
the Manufacturer. This ensures that the blades are kept in good condition, reduces wear and extends the useful life
of shears and blades.
To carry out proper lubrication, the blade must be open- Then carry out the following operations:
•
Turn off the tool by means of the ON / OFF button (5) and remove the battery (9).
•
Spray the lubricating oil from the oil bottle on all moving parts of the blade unit.
•
Plug in the battery (9) and turn on the tool.
•
To allow an even oil distribution, press and release the trigger (4) several times, without making cuts.
Blades sharpening
Correct sharpening of the blade (1) is essential to ensure:
•
cut quality
•
battery (9) lifespan
•
mechanical parts and motor lifespan
•
blades lifespan
During the first day of use the deburring created on the cutting edge of the blade must be often removed. The type
and diameter of the wood to cut determines how often this must be done.
Hard wood with a large diameter: after 15 minutes, then every hour.
Soft wood with a small diameter: after 30 minutes, then every 2 hours.
(It is good practice to avoid cutting branches that are dry or with a large diameter during the first half hour of work)
After the first day of use, you will determine how often sharpening is required according to the condition of the blade.
Light, but frequent sharpening is recommended.
Replacing the blade
WARNING!
Before any maintenance operation switch off the tool and remove the battery (9).
If the cutting blade (1) is worn or if the shear does not guarantee a clean cut after having been sharpened, it is advisable
to replace the blade group by carrying out the following operations:
1. Unscrew the 2 fixing screws of the guard.
2. Remove the protection.
3. Remove the snap ring and the pin from the drive rod.
