5)
Check hand crank limit switch
–
Move the hand crank into the operating position (see § 7.6).
The load must not descend.
The power supply for the motor must be switched off.
–
Turn the hand crank to the right after the operating brake has been released:
The load will be raised.
–
Turn the hand crank to the left after the operating brake has been released:
The load will be lowered.
The power supply is reactivated.
6)
Check the slack rope switch
–
Lower the load or run the wire rope out:
The first rope turn must always remain on the rope reel.
–
Turn the rope reel against the winding on direction until the wire rope slackens and the limit switch is activated.
–
Switch the hoist on in the DOWN direction.
The hoist must not be switched on.

Switch on the hoist in upward direction (see illustration 6).
You must be able to move upwards.

Turn the rope reel manually until the wire rope is taut and the limit switch de-activates.
7)
Test the lowering limit switch
–
Trigger the limit switch manually or by running on to it.
The downwards movement must be stopped.
The hoist must hold the wire rope tight.
You must not be able to move downwards.
8)
Check the rope limit switch
–
Lower the load or run the wire rope out as far as possible:
The limit switch of the rope must trigger when the first turn of the wire rope is still wound around the rope reel.

Switch the hoist on in the DOWN direction.
The hoist must not be switched on.
–
Switch on the hoist in upward direction (see illustration 11/12).
You must be able to move upwards.
9)
Check BSO limit switch
–
Trigger the fall arrest device.
–
Switch the hoist on in the DOWN direction.
The hoist must not be switched on.
–
Switch on the hoist in upward direction (see illustration 11/12).
You must be able to move upwards.
End of tests
–
Record the inspection results in the logbook.
