Reference optimisation
The automatic reference weight optimisation can gradually improve the
accuracy of the average piece weight, so that piece counts become more
precise. This function is active in the factory setting.
With automatic reference optimisation, additional piece quantities are added
and used to calculate the reference weight. To optimise the reference weight,
the maximum number of pieces that can be added is double the number of
pieces used for the last reference weight calculation.
Automatic reference optimisation is performed when the scales are stabilised,
and is indicated audibly by a beep signal.
This process can be repeated in several steps.
The settings for automatic reference optimisation are made in Setting mode
(470.702.103 User mode 3720) UCAL 8 Position 01 and Position 03.
Add mode
Add mode is used to obtain more accurate piece quantity calculations. In the
factory setting, this function is active.
In Add mode, the scales terminal checks whether the total weight of the
reference pieces is lower than the minimum reference weight. The minimum
reference weight is calculated from the smallest scale division on the scales
multiplied by the "Minimum reference weight" setting in Setting mode (value
between 1 and 100 scale divisions (d), default setting is 10 d).
If the weight value is below the minimum reference weight, the scales terminal
prompts you in Add mode to make up the piece quantity required to reach the
minimum reference weight.
Using Add mode
In Add mode, if the value is below the minimum reference weight or quantity,
the display shows the additional piece quantity required (to be added) with the
indication " ".
When the scales are stabilised, the displayed value changes as pieces are
added to make up the difference. The reference value is transferred from Add
mode to Count mode only when the required additional quantity is added.
Add mode can be aborted by pressing the On/Off button.
The settings for Add mode are made in Setting mode (470.702.103 User mode
3720) UCAL 8 Position 04 and Position 05.
