6.2.1. Rescue operation with the Blocfor® R
6.2.1.1.

Activating the recovery function

See page 5 fig 5.1
Press the red lock button to engage the recovery function; and
Pull and turn the crank to recover the operator:
Clockwise to go up; or
Anti-clockwise to go down.

Return to the fall arrest function

Rewinding the cable in the device

See page 5 fig 5.2.
When the recovery is complete, rewind the entire cable into the unit by turning the crank clockwise.
Do not disengage the recovery function from the unit if the cable is not fully wound in the housing,
otherwise the cable may rewind itself at high speed.
6.2.1.2.2.

Disengaging the recovery function

See page 5 fig 5.3
To disengage the winch mechanism, press the red button (1) and the crank shaft (2)
simultaneously;
Make sure that the crank handle is positioned vertically, with the handle at the top so that this
operation can be carried out; and
Pull the handle (3) before folding it back (4).
Any lifting operation with the Blocfor® bi-directional retrieval lifeline is prohibited.
Its winch system is intended for rescue operations only.
6.3. Tractel® work winch
For information on how to use the Tractel® work winch for a lifting operation, see the Tractel® work
winch manual.
The connection with the PPE anchor point is for maximum one operator weighing up to 310 lbs (140
kg) can connect to this bracket at the same time.

7. Prohibited uses

The following are strictly prohibited:
Installing or using this product without proper permission, training and accreditation or, failing
that, without the supervision of an authorised, trained and accredited supervisor;
Using this product if any of the markings are illegible;
Installing or using this product without first verifying it thoroughly;
Using this product if it has not undergone a periodic inspection within the past 12 months by
a technician who has permitted its reuse in writing;
Connecting a fall arrest system if any of its components has not undergone a periodic
inspection within the past 12 months by a technician who has permitted its reuse in writing;
Using a Tractel® fall arrest anchor device for any applications other than those described in
these instructions;
Using this product in contradiction with the information specified in the section "13. Lifespan";
