4.4 Maintenance and service

Risk of impairments of performance due to aging effects
Only use the device within its indicated service life of 5 years. If you notice
impaired performance or other problems, follow the instructions on trouble-
shooting in section 5 and contact the service if necessary.
Risk due to maintenance and service during operation
Maintenance and service must not be performed while the device is in use!
The device must be switched off before maintenance and service work are
performed.
Risk due to the performance of maintenance and
service by unauthorized persons
Maintenance and service may only be performed by specialized
personnel authorized by Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG
or by Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG itself.
Risk due to the performance of maintenance and
service without sufficient documents

Maintenance and service may only be performed considering the service
instructions for the secretion aspirator Allegra M30. Löwenstein
37 Medical GmbH & Co. KG will also provide additional documents on
request, in case these can support the service staff.
WARNING: Modifications of the ME device are not permit-
ted.
• The secretion aspirator Allegra M30 is maintenance-free if used in
accordance with the instructions for use, exempt from components with limited
durability.
• Perform a visual and functional check prior to each application. Also include the
accessories of the device in doing so.
• The device may only be opened and repaired by
Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG or by specialized personnel
authorized by Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG in compliance with the
service documents specified by the manufacturer as well as with technical and
hygienic safety measures.
• The device may be returned to Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG for repair
either directly or via the specialty dealer you purchased the device from.
• All accessories must be cleaned and disinfected before the device is
returned. The device itself may be treated with a surface disinfectant.
• In order to avoid time lags, notify Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG prior to
returning the device and mark the shipping carton of the device with the label
"Used Medical Device".
Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG neither ensures proper operation
for the secretion aspirator Allegra M30 nor is
Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG liable for any resulting property
damage or personal injuries if:
• original accessories and spare parts are not used,
• the user instructions in this instructions for use are not followed,
• installation, settings, modifications, enhancements or repairs are not performed
by Löwenstein Medical GmbH & Co. KG or by personnel authorized by Löwen-
stein Medical GmbH & Co. KG.
