Vertical Ironing
CAUTION!
❐ Never aim the steam directly at people, animals or plants. This can cause severe scalding.
❐ Never attempt to iron clothes while somebody is wearing them.
❐ Make sure when doing vertical ironing that there is plenty of space around the item of
clothing which is to be ironed. You may only perform vertical ironing if the item of clothing
is hanging on a hanger and cannot come into contact with other garments, objects, people
or animals.
•
Vertical ironing only works if you hold down one of the steam switches. The steam
function switches off automatically as soon as the device is moved to a vertical posi-
tion and the steam button is not held down.
•
Vertical ironing is particularly suitable for ironing delicate or larger textiles, e. g.
jackets, coats and curtains.
•
Also note the tips provided in the "Ironing Recommendations" and "Use" chapters.
1. Prepare the device in the manner described in the "Filling/Emptying the Water Reservoir"
and "Use" chapter.
2. Hang the item of clothing on a hanger. Ensure that there is enough free space around the
item of clothing.
3. Set the device to the temperature level (••), (•••) or (max).
4. Hold the device upright.
5. Hold down one of the steam switches and moisten the item of clothing which is to be
ironed.
6. After use, switch off the steam switch, move the temperature control to 0 and pull the
plug out of the plug socket. Place the device upright on its base and allow it to cool down
completely before you empty the water reservoir (see the "Filling/Emptying the Water
Reservoir" chapter) and/or clean and store away the device.

Automatic Switch-Off Feature
For your safety, the device has an automatic switch-off feature. Automatic switch-off means
that the device switches off automatically and moves to stand-by mode three minutes after
the last movement.

If the device has not been used for around 3 minutes, a beep noise is emitted, the tempera-
ture control lamp goes out and the operating status indicator fl ashes in order to tell you
that the device is in stand-by mode.
•
To start up the device again, it merely needs to be moved slightly. You will hear another
beep noise, and the temperature control lamp and operating status indicator will be lit up
constantly. The device is ready to be used again. If the device has been switched off for a
prolonged period, the device must fi rst heat up once more to the temperature which is
set. In this case, the operating status indicator lights up continuously and the temperature
