You might notice a small amount of smoke the fi rst time you use the device. This is
harmless and will cease as you use the device.
•
When the steam is pumped towards the steam outlet opening of the bottom of
the iron, the pump generates a noise in the form of a humming sound. This noise
is produced for technical reasons and does not represent a defect with the device.
•
Make sure that the water reservoir is not completely emptied during use in order
to prevent damage to the water pump. If the water reservoir is completely emptied,
loud pumping noises can be heard. In this case, switch off the steam immediately,
move the temperature control to 0, pull out the mains plug and top up the water
reservoir. The steam function can then be used again without restriction.
1. Fill up the water reservoir with water (see the "Filling/Emptying the Water Reservoir"
chapter).
2. Place the device upright on a stable, fl at, heat-resistant and moisture-resistant surface.
3. Check the label in the item of clothing to fi nd out the required ironing temperature.
4. Make sure that the temperature control is on level 0 and connect the device to a properly
installed, easily accessible plug socket. A noise is emitted as soon as the device has been
connected to the socket.
5. Set a temperature level with the aid of the temperature control. Turn the small wheel
until the desired temperature level (•, ••, •••, max) can be read in the viewing window.
As soon as you have set a temperature level, a noise is emitted and the heating process
starts immediately. Meanwhile the operating status indicator lights up constantly and the
temperature control lamp fl ashes.
6. As soon as the device has reached the desired temperature, another noise is emitted and
the temperature control lamp stops fl ashing and is lit up constantly. The device is now
ready for use and you can start ironing.
7. To produce a continuous fl ow of steam, press one of the two steam buttons. You will hear
a beep noise and the steam symbol on the steam button will light up.
8. To stop the fl ow of steam, press one of the two buttons again. You will hear a beep noise
and the steam symbol on the steam button will go out.
9. To moisten your textiles, press the spray button. This will then spray water through the
water nozzle onto the textiles.
10. If the water level in the water reservoir drops to a minimum, you will hear a beep noise
indicating that the water needs to be topped up. Top up the water reservoir in the manner
described in the "Filling/Emptying the Water Reservoir" chapter.
If the reservoir is not topped up within approx. 1 minute and the steam is not
switched off, the pump automatically switches off to avoid any damage. Once you
have topped up the water reservoir, the steam function is available again.
11. After use, switch off the steam switch, move the temperature control to 0 and pull the
plug out of the plug socket. Place the device upright on its base and allow it to cool down
completely before you empty the water reservoir (see the "Filling/Emptying the Water
Reservoir" chapter) and/or clean and store away the device.
