❐ Always allow the device to cool down completely before you clean the device and/or store
it away.
❐ Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years of age when it is
energized or cooling down.
Danger of Electric Shock and Fire
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing contacts.
The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must be the
same as that stated in the technical data of the device. Be aware that the mains power grids
in different countries operate at different voltage levels. Check whether the local mains
voltage corresponds to the technical data of the device. Only use suitable extension cables
and plug adapters whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
❐ Never immerse the device in water or other liquids! Ensure that the device, cable or plug
cannot fall into water or become wet. Should the device fall into water, switch off the
power supply immediately.
❐ Never touch the device, the cable or the plug with wet hands.
❐ Never direct the steam directly at mains cables or parts containing electrical components
(e. g. inside ovens, fridges, at switches and lights, microwave ovens).
❐ Switch the device off and remove the mains plug from the plug socket
– if you are not using the device,
– if a fault occurs during operation,
– before a thunderstorm,
– before you pour water into the water reservoir or empty it,
– before you clean and/or store away the device.
❐ When you want to remove the mains plug from the socket, always pull the plug and never
the mains cable.
❐ The device should only be used in closed rooms.
❐ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and explosive
fumes.
❐ In the interest of your own safety, inspect the device for damage each time before you use
it. The device should only be used if it is not damaged in any way.
❐ In the event of damage/faults, switch the device off immediately.
❐ Never try to repair an electrical device or replace parts yourself. If defects occur, the de-
vice may no longer be used. Get in touch with your nearest customer service centre/spe-
cialist dealer or, in the event of damage, please contact our customer service department.
Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may become
caught and pull the device down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
