Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffoca-
tion!
• Unpack all parts and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items Supplied
and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If you fi nd any damage to the com-
ponents, do not use them (!), but contact our customer service department.
• Before using the device, remove all paper bags, plastic bags, fi lms, cardboard and any
labels that may be in or on the device and are used for protection or advertising during
transportation.
• It is essential that you read through the "Ironing Recommendations" chapter before you
fi rst use the device!

Filling/Emptying the Water Reservoir

CAUTION!
❐ Always pull out the plug before you top up/empty the water reservoir. Always pull the plug
and never the cable.
❐ Never pour any cleaning agent or other additives into the device. This could destroy the
device and safe working is no longer guaranteed.
❐ Never exceed the maximum fi ll level (note MAX marking on the measuring cup that is also
supplied!). If possible, only fi ll the device with distilled water.
❐ Before using the device, always compare the local voltage used on the mains power
grid with the technical data of the device. The device is designed for a mains voltage of
220 – 240 V~ 50 Hz.
1. Make sure that the device is not connected to the mains power.
5. To empty the water reservoir, open the cover of the water reservoir and turn the device
upside down. This will allow the remaining water to run out of the reservoir.

2. Open the water reservoir by opening up the cover of the wa-
ter reservoir. Please note that the cover cannot be completely
detached from the device.
3. Hold the device vertically upright by the handle and use the
measuring cup that is supplied to pour water at room tempera-
ture into the water reservoir. Do not overfi ll the device. Note
the MAX marking on the measuring cup. The device can be
operated using normal tap water, but we recommend that you
use distilled water.
4. Close the water reservoir by folding the cover shut again. Make
sure that the water reservoir is completely sealed shut.
