2. As soon as you let go of the handle (16), the device automatically goes into
stand-by (automatic safety switch-off function) and the operating lamp fl ashes.
CAUTION: It takes a little while for the bottom of the iron to cool down.
Even if the device is in stand-by, never leave it unattended while it is still
connected to the mains power!
3. If you touch the handle, the device switches on (automatic switch-on function) and
the operating lamp lights up constantly.
The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping out of the bottom of the iron at low
temperatures.
Thanks to the ceramic coating on the bottom of the iron (8) the device slides
effortlessly over the fabric during ironing.
The anti-limescale system of the device removes the lime from the water if you use
tap water instead of distilled water for steam-ironing.
The self-cleaning function (Self Clean button (12)) allows you to remove limescale
residues from the device, see the "Cleaning and Care" chapter.

Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
Unpack the items supplied and check them for completeness (see the "Items Supplied
and Device Overview" chapter) and transport damage. If the device does have any
damage, do not use it (!), but contact the customer service department.
Before using the device, remove all paper bags, plastic bags, fi lms, cardboard and
any labels that may be on the device and are used for protection or advertising during
transportation.
It is essential that you read through the "Ironing Recommendations" chapter before
you fi rst use the device!

Ironing Recommendations

The device has the following temperature settings:

Delicate items of clothing should be ironed inside out to preserve the material.
Although the device can also be used on delicate fabrics such as silk or wool, you
should read the care instructions for the textile to be ironed before you use the device.
Some fabrics such as leather, suede and velvet must not be ironed!
We recommend that you sort the garments on the basis of the temperature they need
to be ironed at and that you start with the items which require the lowest temperature.
