Notices on the Different Preparation Types

It is briefl y described below what needs to be noted for the different preparation types
that are possible with this device. It is important to read the "Basic Use of the Device"
chapter beforehand in order to familiarise yourself with the basic way the device works.
This knowledge will then enable you to prepare a vast array of different dishes following
any recipes you want.
Generally it is not necessary to preheat the device. If the food is to be ready "on
the dot", we recommend preheating the device empty and placing the food which
is to be cooked in the device once the HEAT heating control lamp has gone out.
The stated cooking temperatures are only approximate guideline values because
all food is very different and ingredients differ due to their origin, size, shape,
quality and brand. The actual cooking temperatures may therefore vary. It is
essential to make sure prior to serving that the food is fully cooked through!
Cooking
In principle, the cooking bowl is used like a saucepan.
1. Pour water or the liquid you want and any other ingredients into the cooking bowl.
Make sure that the amount is between the MIN and MAX marking. Do not exceed
the MAX marking!
2. Place the lid on the cooking bowl.
3. Use the TEMP rotary knob to initially set a temperature of 120°C to 140°C to bring
to the boil.
4. Switch on the device with the TIME rotary knob.
5. Do not leave the device unattended during cooking! If the liquid boils, reduce the tem-
perature. Stir it around from time to time. Add further ingredients if required according
to the recipe.

Warming Up Food

1. Pour soups, sauces etc. directly into the cooking bowl. Place meat, fi sh, vegetables
etc. on the rack. We recommend warming up dumplings with steam (see the "Steam-
ing" section).
2. Close the cooking bowl with the lid.
3. Use the TEMP rotary knob to select a temperature of 80°C to 100°C.
4. Switch on the device with the TIME rotary knob.
5. Do not leave the device unattended! Stir around liquid food from time to time, and
turn solid food.
Frying
During frying, the cooking bowl acts like a frying pan.
1. Pour a little cooking oil into the cooking bowl.
2. Use the TEMP rotary knob to set a temperature of 180°C to 220°C to heat up the
cooking bowl.
3. Switch on the device with the TIME rotary knob.
4. When the HEAT heating control lamp has gone out, place the food to be fried into the
cooking bowl and brown slightly on both sides. Reduce the temperature if necessary.
