Before Initial Use

PLEASE NOTE!
■ WARNING – Danger of Suffocation! Keep children and animals away from plastic
bags and fi lms.
■ There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects
to your health, clean the device before you fi rst use it (see the "Cleaning" chapter).
1. Check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items Supplied" chapter) and
possible transport damage. If you fi nd any damage, do not use the device (!), but
rather contact the customer service department.
2. Remove any possible fi lms, stickers or transport protection from the device. Never
remove the rating plate and any possible warnings!
3. The device should be used for the fi rst time without any food in it as it may produce
some smoke or odours due to coating residues. Allow the cooking bowl to heat up in
the device on the highest temperature setting for approx. 15 minutes without any food
in it (see the "Basic Use of the Device" chapter). During this time, make sure the room
is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open windows!
4. Thoroughly rinse the cooking bowl and any accessories that come into contact with
food. Follow the instructions in the "Cleaning" chapter to do this.

Basic Use of the Device

PLEASE NOTE!
■ WARNING – Danger of Injury! Make sure that the connected mains cable does
not present a trip hazard. The mains cable must not hang down from the surface on
which the device is placed in order to prevent the device from being pulled down.
■ CAUTION – Danger of Scalding from Hot Steam and Condensation! Take care
when removing the lid: Tilt the lid forwards slightly so that the steam can escape at
the back. Allow the condensation to run into the cooking bowl. Then carefully remove
the lid.
■ Always set up the device with a clear space at the sides and clear space above it. Do
not place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising steam
could cause damage to them!
■ Make sure that with liquids the maximal fi ll level (MAX marking in the cooking bowl)
is not exceeded so that the cooking bowl does not overfl ow!
