10. Maintenance manual
Maintenance must be carried out by qualified per-
sonnel (installer or BWT customer services) in ac-
cordance with DIN EN 806-5. As drinking water
is ingested, the highest standards of hygiene should
therefore be strictly observed when carrying out any
works.
Replacement of worn parts
Sealing elements (A)
every 3 years
Filter element (B)
every 6 years
Transparent inspection cylinder (C) every 15 years
O ring (D)
every 15 years
Close the shut-off valves upstream and downstream
of the filter and, where necessary, place a collection
vessel underneath. Release the filter pressure.
Turn the rotary handle (5) anticlockwise. Unscrew
the transparent inspection cylinder (C) manually and
pull downwards to remove it.
Use a wiper to pull the filter element (B), downwards
to remove it. Dispose of it responsibly.
Replace seals (A). All seals must be moistened prior
to installation. Install a new filter element.
Screw the transparent inspection cylinder into the
head, and manually screw it tight.
Open the shut-off valves upstream and downstream
of the system, bleed the pipeline at the next nearest
tap downstream of the system, and bleed off the first
discharge of water.
Check that all connections are watertight (visual ins-
pection). Carry out backwashing.
Inspect the outlet pressure at zero flow and during
times of high volume water extraction.
Close the shut-off valves upstream and downstream
of the domestic water station and release the pressu-
re on both sides.
Release the clamping screw (9) and turn the rotary
knob (10) anticlockwise to its full extent. Unscrew
the spring cap (7) using a ring spanner. Remove
the pressure reducer installation (11) and slide ring
(12). Smear the O rings of the new valve insert
with silicone grease and place the valve insert in
the housing, ensuring the O rings are correctly po-
sitioned. Insert the slide ring, screw the spring cap
und clamping screw. Install the pressure reducer as
per the instructions in the section on Commissioning.
Replace the backflow preventer.
Open the shut-off valves upstream and downstream
of the system, bleed the pipeline at the nearest tap
downstream of the system, and bleed off the first
discharge water.
Check that all connections are watertight (visual in-
spection).

11. Operator's responsibilities
You have purchased a product that has a long ser-
vice life and is easy to maintain.
However, every technical system requires regular
servicing to ensure that it is operating correctly and
efficiently.
It is a prerequisite for both the operation of the sys-
tem and the warranty that the filter is backwashed
by the operator. The filter must be flushed regularly,
depending on the operating conditions, but at least
every 6 months as stipulated in DIN EN 13443. Eve-
ry 2 months, inspect the outlet pressure at zero flow
and when large volumes of water are extracted.
A further prerequisite for the operation of the system
and warranty is that worn parts are replaced at the
recommended maintenance intervals.

If you are unable to fix the fault after following the above instructions, please contact BWT customer services.
Worn parts must be replaced by qualified personnel
(installer or BWT customer services) in accordance
with DIN EN 806-5. We recommend you take out
a maintenance contract with either your installer or
BWT customer services.
Qualified personnel:
The product should be installed, commissioned and
maintained by qualified personnel only, and opera-
ted and used only by trained personnel.
Trained personnel:
These are personnel who have been trained for the
tasks assigned to them based on the information
contained in this manual, and who are aware of
the potential dangers of any inappropriate actions.
Qualified personnel:
Only qualified personnel who have undergone pro-
fessional and specialist training, possess the requi-
site knowledge and expertise and are aware of the
relevant regulations, are authorised to install, com-
mission and maintain the product .
Correction
Perform backwashing.
Turn rotary handle to maximum
open position and repeat back-
washing several times.
Adjust back pressure (see Com-
missioning). If the pressure rises
again, the valve insert must be
replaced (11).
