1. Helmet Pivot and Slide: To replace the pivot and slide mechanisms:
a. With the headgear suspension removed (see "Welding Helmet Donning & Fitting", #3) push up on the gray slide lock button, slide the pivot
mechanism toward the back (toward the headgear adjustment knob) of the slide rail and with your thumb, push it off the slide. This action will
take some force (Fig. 25a).
b. If the gray slide lock is removed, place the spring into the lock and push it up through the retaining hole in the bottom of the pivot. It will need
to be held in place while placing the pivot on the slide rail (Fig. 25b).
NOTE: When removing the pivot mechanism, keep hold of the gray slide lock button or it will fall out of its retaining slot.
