CLEANING, STORAGE & DISPOSAL
1. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce the capability of the 3M™ Speedglas™ Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 shell to
withstand impact and penetration and may result in serious bodily injury or death:
a. Use only the cleaning processes and agents described in these User Instructions to clean the shell.
b. Do not store in direct sunlight.
c. Do not use in high heat environments above the recommended maximum temperature.
d. This welding helmet must not be painted or cleaned with solvents. Any decals applied to the welding helmet must be compatible with the
surface material and known not to affect adversely the characteristics of the materials used in the welding helmet. Decals may affect the
impact and flammability characteristics of this welding helmet and prevent inspection of damage under decals.
2. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce the capability of the 3M™ Speedglas™ Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 clear grinding
visor to withstand impact and penetration and may result in serious bodily injury or death.
3. Use only the cleaning processes and agents described in these User Instructions to clean the clear grinding visor.
4. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce respirator performance, overexpose you to contaminants, and may result in serious bodily
injury, sickness or death.
Cleaning
NOTE: When cleaning the welding helmet, it is highly recommended that the ADF and the Task Light be removed to avoid the possibility of water
entering the electronics and causing damage.
The 3M™ Speedglas™ Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 should be regularly cleaned. Follow the hygiene practices established by your
employer for the specific contaminants to which the respirator assembly has been exposed. For additional information on cleaning the 3M™
Speedglas™ Heavy-Duty Welding Helmet G5-01 contact 3M Technical Service in the U.S.A. at 1-800-243-4630. In Canada, call Technical Service
at 1-800-267-4414.
Welding Helmet Shell, Clear Grinding Visor, Visor Frame, and other plastic parts: A clean cloth, sponge or soft brush dampened with a mild
solution of soapy water may be used to wipe down the welding helmet visor, welding helmet shell, head suspension (including the webbing), and
all other plastic parts. Rinse with clean water. Washing temperature should not exceed 120°F (49°C). Air dry all parts inside and out thoroughly
before storage or reuse. If liquid enters the air channels, ensure they are thoroughly dry before storage and reuse. Attaching and running a 3M™
Adflo™ PAPR Assembly may aid in drying internal airduct parts.
Do not use strong solvents for cleaning plastic parts including welding helmet shell, suspension, and visor.
