c. To replace the faceseal, with the underside of the welding helmet facing up and the airduct tube pointed away, position the faceseal with front
grasping tabs up. Fit the outer edges of the front plastic retainer into the appropriate grooves on each side and fit the center into the groove in
the front of the welding helmet. Make sure it is tightly fitted in the center grooves (Fig. 20c).
d. Slide the side seam of the faceseal into the retaining channels. Hook the fabric over the retaining post and the retaining loops over the posts
located on either side of the airduct tube holder. Make sure there are no gaps along the faceseal or the channels (Fig. 20d).
5. Welding Filter: Carefully inspect the complete 3M™ Speedglas™ G5 Series Passive Welding Filter or Auto-Darkening Filter ADF G5-01 or ADF
G5-01VC before each use. Cracked, pitted or scratched filter glass or protection plates reduce vision and can seriously impair protection. All
damaged components should be replaced immediately. To remove the ADF and replace inner and outer protection cover plates:
a. While looking at the front of the welding helmet, grasp the silver frame on your right side and pull away from the welding helmet. The frame
will pop off (Fig. 21a).
b. There are two small tabs at the top of the ADF. Push down on the tabs and pull the ADF out of the welding helmet (Fig. 21b).
