a. Remove the ADF from the outer welding shield (see 5a & 5b).
b. Install the passive (single shade glass) filter assembly (see 5f, 5g and 5h).
c. Shaded glass may be changed by removing the retainer, inside protection plate and colored shade glass and replacing with a darker or lighter
shade as desired by the welder (Fig. 22b).
NOTE: If an outer protection plate is not already on the G5 Series Passive Filter Assembly one must be installed (Fig. 21g).

7. Welding Helmet Airduct Tube: Look for any tears, holes or cracks. Bend and stretch the tube to verify that it is flexible. Check the airduct tube
connection located at the back of the welding helmet to make sure it is secure. Inspect the QRS push fitting at the end of the airduct tube (i.e. end
that connects to the air source) for signs of damage. The airduct tube should fit firmly into the air source connection. To remove and reattach the
welding helmet airduct tube:
a. Remove the welding helmet airduct tube holder from the head suspension. See "Connecting and Disconnecting Breathing Tubes" in the
"Operating Instructions" section to remove the airduct tube holder.
b. Grasp the welding helmet airduct tube firmly where it connects to the welding helmet airduct flange.
c. Turn clockwise to remove (Fig. 23a).
