INTRODUCTION

The vapor recovery is prescribed by law in many European countries. For the
vapor recovery the hydrocarbon vapor which is displaced when filling up the tank
with gasoline has to be returned to the storage tank.
Usually for the vapor recovery "open, active" systems (Figure 1) are used.

The behaviour of the most components
used in the vapor recovery systems are
non-linear. Further the components of
different manufacturers may have diffe-
rent characteristics (e.g. vacuum
pumps). Therefore it is necessary to
linearise the general system.
With the Bürkert control electronics
the linearisation is accomplished by
the automatic self adaptation of the
whole system and therefore enables a
flexible use.
