After the drilling operation, disassemble the tools and clean the glow
plug compartment with compressed air to remove dirt and/or debris
(fig. 24).
TAPPING (fig. 25, 26)
Take the rod with the suitable tap
1952 003 309 - Male M4 with extension installed (for M10x1)
1952 003 308 - Male M3 with extension installed (for M8x1)
and insert it into the proper guide.
Carefully insert the rod with the male in the compartment of the glow
plug and screw the threaded guide.
Start the manual tapping operation for the extraction using a ratchet
wrench (fig. 26).
After the tapping operation, disassemble the tools and clean the
glow plug compartment with compressed air to remove dirt and/
or debris.
UNSCREWING (fig. 27, 28, 29)
Screw the body with the bearing 1952 003 546 onto the glow
plug guide (fig. 27).
Take the appropriate threaded extraction rod:
1952 003 543 - for M10 glow plugs
1952 003 541 - for M8 glow plugs
Screw the appropriate extraction nut 1952 003 547 (for M8 glow
plugs) or 1952 003 548 (for M10 glow plugs) onto the extraction
rod (fig. 28).
Insert the extraction rod with the nut assembled into the bearing and
screw it onto the tip to be removed.
Screw the nut until it comes into contact with the bearing and then
remove the tip by keeping the extraction rod steady and tightening
the nut against the bearing (fig. 29).
Proceed with the insertion of the new glow plug (fig. 32, 33).
GLOW PLUG SHAFT REAMER (1952 003 590)
Remove the glow plug from the engine.
Choose the threaded adapter accordingly to glowplug pitch, and
mount it on the reamer tool; now screw into the glowplug seat, and
start to operate by hand the reamer tool (fig. 30);
