Once renewed the thread for the new spark plug,
clean the seat with compressed air to remove dirt
and / or material debris.
Once the thread for the new spark plug is ready, tighten the
threaded insert ¼ -28 UNF (M10) or 12-28 UNF (M8) for
extraction to the pin with threaded hole M8 (with the impact mass
mounted) (fig. 17).

Tools required: Combination wrench CH-8; Hexagonal wrench

If necessary (engine size) use the extension for
extraction pin code 1952 003 221.
Screw the threaded insert for extraction to the glow plug and
proceed with the extraction phase acting on the impact mass

(fig. 17 ref. ).
UNSCREWING
Assemble the required thread insert (1952 003 216 or 1952 003
262) to the removal tool (1952 003 556 + 1952 003 557 +
1952 003 555) and screw it on the spark plug (fig. 19).
Fully remove the spark plug
Proceed with the insertion of the new glow plug (fig. 20);
GLOW PLUGS TIP EXTRACTION (1952 003 570)
DRILLING (fig. 21, 22, 23, 24)
Take the rod with the suitable drill bit
1952 003 314 - Bit Ø 3.2 with extension installed (for M10x1)
1952 003 312 - Bit Ø 2.5 with extension installed (for M8x1)
and insert it into the proper guide
1952 003 545 - Guide for glow plug M10x1
1952 003 544 - Guide for glow plug M8x1
Carefully insert the rod with the drill bit in the glow plug
compartment and screw the threaded guide.
Start the drilling operation using an electric/pneumatic drill acting
with a slight pressure (fig. 23).
