Fault
Cause
The load cannot be lowered / slackened although the wire rope can be lifted / pulled.
The load has come to rest on an obstacle or has jammed on an obstacle. –

The wire rope cannot be fed in.
Rope tip faulty.
Hoists fitted with hand cranks: The load moves downwards with the operating brake open and the hand crank in the operating position.
Fault with the spring mechanism for the hand crank.

Elimination
Carefully move the load upwards and remove the obstacle.
