Wire rope
DANGER!
Risk of injury through stabs and cuts!
Broken wires in the wire rope can result in protruding wires!
Protruding wires can cut or stab through safety gloves!

Wear suitable leather protective gloves when working
with wire ropes.
–
Never let the wire rope run through your hands.
Cleaning
Brush the dirt off soiled wire ropes when dry if necessary. Re-
lubricate as necessary.
Use the brush attachments to clean the wire rope at the hoist in
an extremely dirty environment.
Lubrication
DANGER!
Danger of falling and danger from falling objects due to
slippery or damaged ropes or brake failure and malfunc-
tions!
Might result in severe injuries or even death!

Do not lubricate the wire rope using a lubricant that
contains disulfide (e.g. Molycote
–
Use multi-purpose grease or oil.
–
Cleaning the rope or products in contact with the wire
rope using high pressure cleaners is prohibited! Moisture
will result in malfunctions and damage to the motor,
brake and the electrical equipment.

Dirt on the wire rope will result in premature wear or the
corrosion of the wire rope, rigging and hoist.
Replacement
Replace the wire ropes immediately if the withdrawal criteria in
accordance with Table 7 have been reached (as per ISO 4309
and DIN 15020, Sheet 2) or typical rope defects are present, see
Fig. 11. Determining the rope diameter: See Fig. 18.

Renewing rope tips
Send the wire rope to TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH or an lifting
equipment service company authorized by TRACTEL Greifzug
GmbH and have the tip replaced.
Power supply and control cables
The cables must be replaced by an electrician if any damage has
been caused to the insulation or the cable connectors.

Motor, gearbox and brake
The motor, gearbox and brake are maintenance-free until the
number of permitted running hours are realized (general over-
haul).

The rope must not be used with a swivel hook or a rope swivel.
