and the battery manufacturer before charging a battery
or using the Quick start procedure.
¾ Connect red charging clamp to positive (+) battery terminal and
black charging clamp (-) to negative battery terminal.
¾ If the battery is installed on a motor vehicle, first connect
the clamp to the battery terminal that is not connected to
the bodywork. Afterwards, connect the second clamp to the
bodywork at a point far from both the battery and the petrol
pipes.
¾ Connect the battery charger to main supply
¾ Turn switch [F] to 1/ON
¾ To break off charging disconnect first the mains supply,
then remove charging clamp from car body or negative
terminal (-) and charging clamp from positive terminal (+)
Setting of charging current
The charging current absorbed by a battery recharging
depends on the state of the battery itself. For models with
charge settings, select the charging current nearest to 10%
of the capacity of the battery for charging. (ex. I=4 Amps. for
a battery of 40 Amp/h.)
GEL cells generally require a current higher than average.
AGM Power batteries generally require a current lower than
average.
Make sure that the battery capacity (Ah) is not less than that
indicated on the battery charger (C-Min)
Simultaneous charging of a number of batteries. (Fig.3)
Clearly, charging time increases in proportion to the sum of
the capacities of the batteries being charged.
Do not charge at the same time different types of batteries,
batteries of different capacities (Ah), or at different charge
levels.
How to charge a battery (Fig. 2)

charging the battery.
The battery charger runs the sulphation test to check if the
battery is sulphated. LED [A] flashes as long as the test lasts,
and then remains on until the battery is fully charged.
If the icon "S" is shown once the test is over, this means that
the battery has fully discharged and that a sulphation process
has begun.
In this case, it is advisable to run the desulphation programme.
The selected programmed is not interrupted when the "S"
symbol is displayed.
¾ Press and hold button
charging the battery.

You can increase or decrease the "Amp" current by means
of buttons

while a battery is being charged.
L
Once the charge is completed ("Traction" programme)
or when the battery charger keeps the battery voltage at
its maximum level (programmes: "STANDARD"; "STD +
EQUAL"; "Desolf"), the LED [ A ] flashes.
L
"Quick Start" The battery charger saves the settings
before it turns off and restores them once it is switched
on again. In case of power failure, the battery charger
resumes the charging cycle when the energy is restored.
How to programme your battery charger
L
You cannot use the battery charger if you are in the
Programming Menu.
¾ Press button

charger programming and scroll through the Menu
with buttons [◄►].
¾ According to what you want, you can select a parameter or
change a numeric value using buttons
change to the next parameter, the change is saved.
Control Overview
¾ Select the charging programme.
Programmes available: Fig. 6
"Standard" = regular charge (6 phases)
"Std+Equal"= regular charge and equalisation (7 phases)
"Desolf" = desulphation (3 phases)
"Booster" = quick start
"Traction" = battery charge by traction (6 phases)
Phases of charging programmes: Fig. 6
1) Check for sulphated battery
2) Low current charge "soft start"
3) Battery is filled with the maximum current selected.
4) Charge is completed, current diminishes.
5) Battery check
6) Equalisation
9) Battery is kept at the maximum voltage 'float charge'
7) Desulphation
Never use the desulphation function for
batteries installed on motor vehicles: Remove
the battery before charging it.
