ADJUSTING THE PICK UP TIMING
CAUTION
Do not adjust the throttle link when it is
operating properly. Excessive adjustment
may cause the engine poor perfomance.
NOTE:
When adjusting the carburetor and adjusting
the ignition timing, always adjust the pick-up
timing.
1. Adjust:
• Pick up timing
Adjusting steps:
(1) Disconnect the link joint 1.
(2) Set the magneto control lever 2 to
fully retard, it contacts the full retard
stopper 3.
(3) Bring the accelerator cam 4 to lightly
contact the throttle lever roller 5.
NOTE:
The throttle valve should not open.
(4) Adjust the length
untill the holes align with the pins on
the magneto control lever 6 and the
accelerator cam 4.
(5) Install the link joint

PROTECTION DEVICE
1. Adjust:
• Start-in-gear protection device
operation
• Incorrect
2. Adjust:
• Start-in-gear protection device cable
Adjusting steps:
(1) Set the shift control lever to the neutral
position.
(2) Loosen the bolt 1.
(3) Adjust the start-in-gear protection
cable so that the mark
stopper aligns with the mark
cam guide.
(4) Tighten the bolt 1.
