Assembly of disposable sleeve on the CEREC Omnicam's mirror
sleeve
1. Remove a disposable sleeve from its packaging. Slide the disposable
sleeve on the Omnicam mirror sleeve until the stop limit is reached,
so that it is mounted firmly to the Omnicam. Do not hold the Omnicam
only with the sleeve to prevent dropping the Omnicam.
2. Place the CEREC Omnicam on the cradle to allow it to warm up for
at least 15 minutes prior to intraoral scan. Ensure that the cradle is
disinfected.
3. While intraorally scanning with mirror sleeves the Omnicam should
be placed nearer to the teeth than when not using sleeves. If the 3D
preview has artifacts, check if the window of the disposable sleeve is
clean and wipe it off with alcohol. At the end of each scanning
session, remove the disposable sleeve from the CEREC Omnicam
mirror sleeve and discard it according to standard procedures.
8.1.5.11.2
Disinfecting the camera body and mirror sleeve
NOTICE
Do not spray the CEREC Omnicam or immerse it in cleaning agents or
disinfectants!
➢ Use a new cotton gauze moistened with one of the cleaning products
listed in the „Cleaning and disinfection agents [ → 48]" section. Wipe
the camera body first and then the mirror sleeve. This step disinfects
the camera body and the mirror sleeve. Then dry the mirror sleeve
with a clean lint-free cloth.

Calibrating CEREC Omnicam

The measurement procedure used by the system requires the use of a
calibrated CEREC Omnicam. The CEREC Omnicam is factory-
calibrated. Then calibrate the CEREC Omnicam after every reinstallation
and after every transport. The calibration set supplied with the CEREC
Omnicam is available for the calibration process.
In order to achieve optimum results, the CEREC Omnicam must be
allowed to warm up for 15-20 minutes before calibration.
Recalibrate the CEREC Omnicam in the following cases:
● following transport (shaking stress) or during first commissioning,
● after storage in unheated or un-air-conditioned rooms (temperature
differences exceeding 30°C)
● with temperature differences of over 15°C between the last
calibration and operation
● In general, carrying out a calibration is the correct process in the
event of errors in the acquisition process (such as poor image quality
or the lack of a 3D preview). In many cases, the errors can be
corrected in doing so.
